Introduction

As a law that is still in the process of being implemented, Indonesia's right to information framework should appropriately be viewed with regards to that caveat. In particular, our expert turned our attention to the fact that several issues that our analysis found in Indonesia's procedural framework (Indicators 16, 17, 20, 25) are still in the process of being addressed through regulations originating from the Information Commissioner. Notwithstanding this status, there are several weaknesses in the law, including the non-enforceability ability of the Information Commissioner's decisions and the fact that information can be classified into exempt categories by other laws.

The law is also available in its Indonesian original here.
